ESS Bali also referred to as Eat, Sleep & Skate, is one of the best hotels with a private skatepark in Indonesia. Located near Denpasar City, ESS is in the middle of Bali and only a short scooter ride to Kuta. There is a tranquil swimming pool that makes you feel like you are staying in a resort. However, we suspect that you might spend most of your time in the skate bowls. The concrete skatepark is as unique as any that we have come across in Bali, with more versatility than a one-tonne ute. There are in-effect two bowls that link together with a spine. A couple of street features are spread out over the perimeter of the skatepark, and our favourite would have to be the wallride. The concrete is smooth besides the occasional crack, the drainage is effective, which is something to consider in the wet season, and the bar is stocked with cold tasty Bintang beer. Known for their famous Friday pizza night with delicious wood fire creations and offering the vibes and ambience that you will struggle to find anywhere else on the island.
