We didn’t think we would make it to this skatepark.
I met a local in Bogotá who said he lived on the border of the ghetto and knew a couple of skating friends who lived in the neighborhood who could show us around.
Stupidly, I got in an unmarked yellow taxi whose driver thought I was up to no good and tried to stitch me up and take me to the police. I threw way too much money at him when the vehicle stopped in traffic and ran from the cab. Luckily, I found another taxi driver who, after much convincing, agreed to drive me to my friend’s place.
Holy ship, what an incredible experience. I was treated like absolute royalty by the most accommodating locals, who showed me the skatepark and the hood, and were so lovely.
Before I knew it, we were rolling around with the Latin Kings. Twelve hours had passed us by, and it was the wee hours of the morning. Such a gangster experience, which I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am muchas gracias full of appreciation for everyone that I met along the way who was so lovely, kind, and generous. But unless you’re a local, we wouldn’t suggest skating this park. Glad to get in and out with some pics, but in hindsight, definitely not worth the risk.
The skatepark comprises a single bowl that is lit up under lights, featuring fresh concrete, standard steel coping, and medium to tight transitions.

Skatepark Bowl 72
Tucked right in the heart of Bogotá, Skatepark Bowl 72 is built around one single, wild bowl. The shape is totally unique—honestly, there isn't really a word in English or Spanish that properly describes the layout. Super smooth concrete, tight transitions, and...
Usatama Skatepark
Scoping out Usatama Skatepark in Bogotá can be a bit of a mission. There were people just hanging out without boards, making it look more like a local hangout spot than an actual skate facility. We really tried our best to work around the crowd and show you what the...
Skatepark Transversal
A stock-standard, street-oriented skatepark featuring the standard collection of rails, ledges, banks, and stairs. The park also includes a quarter pipe at one end to help maintain flow. It is a super fun skatepark, worthy of three stars with ease.
