Unfortunately, this old-school vert ramp has been removed.

Spotswood Skate Ramp in Donald McLean Reserve is one of a few large steel vert half pipes in Melbourne. Up close you can see a few dints in the flat section from where we presume hooligans threw shopping trolleys from the top of the 8ft vert. The half pipe is otherwise is mint condition for an antique. Don’t forget to bring a T-tool because you might need to tighten your trucks, as Spotswood Skate Ramp is as fast as any and you never grow out of speed wobbles.

Spotswood Skate Ramp looks like it rarely sees many Skaters, Bmx’rs or even Scooters, so it is a great skatepark to strap on your knee, elbow & wrist pads and skate the day away with little interruption besides the dog walkers. The ramp has stairs on one half so that those that are game can drop in with out pumping their way to the top. Spotswood Skate Ramp also features a sweet park bench that gets shade for most of the day if you wanted to persuade your Mum in driving you there or your partner to sit and watch you eat shit on a vert ramp. Located next to the Melbourne Road exit on the West Gate Fwy, it is hard to miss the large steel structure. The easiest place to park is on The Avenue, Spotswood with a brief stroll across the park to the half pipe.
