Beaconsfield Skatepark is the latest skate facility to open in East Melbourne. The new skatepark was designed by Playce in another one of their collaborations with Baseplate. The skatepark was built by Trinity Skateparks and features a modern street section and a 3/4 bowl. The skatepark steps up in the middle of the street section with ramps, steps, rails and ledges that all capitalise on the sloping gradient. They have managed to squeeze four steps into the small incline to create one of the mellowest set of stairs in greater Melbourne. There is the option of a square rail and a circle rail, for those that have a preference. The 4ft feature bowl at the end of the park looks like one that you may appreciate the more you skate it, as is the only obstacle in the park that is not mellow, with its steep almost vert like transitions.
Beaconsfield skatepark has a couple of highlights that we haven’t found anywhere else, including a weird curb bank thing and circular banks on the side with a hip that are referred to as lemons. Something unique about the skatepark are the vertical seats that you might find on a Melbourne tram, but very practice to lean against whilst catching your breath between lines. Overall the NEW Beaconsfield Skatepark surpassed our expectations and has been awarded four stars from the Skater Maps team (a huge achievement considering the size of the park). Navigate your way through the 360° virtual tour below and let us know what you think of Beaconsfield Skatepark by leaving a review at the end of the page.
