Dromana Pump Track is one of the latest contributions to the skating community on the Mornington Peninsula. The concrete course/circuit style pump track is one of the first of its kind to be built in Victoria. We have seen little pump sections and loops, however, Dromana is in a different ballpark. You will be puffed after your first lap as it is not as easy as it looks. When you get it, you get it and it can be one of the most rewarding ways of getting your heart racing.
The concrete pump tack is less than a meter wide, but when you get rolling with some speed, it is surprisingly easy to stay on. In saying that, it is still not for the faint-hearted and is more commonly used by bikes and scooter, rather than skateboarders. The skatepark is located in the middle of Hillview Community Reserve and is roughly a 200m walk from the nearest car park. There is plenty of shade and a couple of sturdy tables next to the track and considering it rarely gets much use, it’s a perfect place to bring your pick nick and settle in for the afternoon because you will almost certainly have it to yourself.
