Epping Skatepark is a monster of a park initially built by Convic Skateparks, but has since been extended with a new bowl thanks to a collaboration between Independent Concrete Constructions and Grind Projects.

Epping Skatepark features a HUGE skate bowl that rivals Frankston and North Torquay for Victoria’s largest and most intimidating bowl. The shape of the bowl is super unique with a small rainbow extension on one side and a gnarly wide spine. It can be hard to gauge just how large the Epping bowl is from the pictures, but we can report that there is at least a meter of vert wall and doesn’t get much mellower the deeper you get.

The new bowl is a great edition to Epping Skatepark and its mellow transitions complement the existing vert bowl. The rest of the skatepark is covered with large ramps and quarters all flowing towards an unconventional open bowl with feature obstacles in the middle. The skatepark also has one of the most comprehensive collection of street obstacles that rival those of Melbourne’s best street specific skate plazas. Epping Skatepark is one of Melbourne’s best skateparks and although a bit of a mission to get to from Melbourne, it is still one that is definitely worth making the effort to venture too.
