Rye Skatepark is a great little Skatepark, especially for the ramp crew, located off Melbourne Rd within the RJ Rowley Recreation Reserve. The skatepark was designed by Aspect Melbourne and built by Concrete Skateparks in 2004. The Skatepark features two nice bowls (big and small) with a couple of street features tossed in for good measure. The big bowl is completely sick with an 8 ft uniform depth throughout and a cradle (apparently the first in the southern hemisphere). There are some great lines to be found in this one including a few nice hips and metal coping throughout. The real surprise at Rye Skatepark is just how much fun the mini bowl is! Although only a couple of feet deep there’s no end to the fun you can have in it. It even has a little sloped extension that is fun to try and grind over. Also check out the scooter kids doing back flips out of the mini bowl onto the grassy bank behind! Streetwise there is a single down rail (down a bank) and a block next to the large bowl but it probably isn’t worth your time to be completely honest. Get down when the Demon’s are training at the footy club and take advantage of the lights.
Four Stars with ease!
