Laverton Skatepark can be found in McCormack Park and has been expanded on over the years to create the skate space masterpiece that it is today. Originally Laverton Skatepark only had a few ledges and rails. However, today features an expansive outlay of concrete to carve around on with a comprehensive display of street obstacles along with a double bowl. PRECiSiON Skate Parks built the skatepark with the smoothest concrete in Laverton. They feature double bowl is similar to those found at Fitzroy Skate Bowl, Lilydale Skatepark and Horsham Skate Bowl. A very well designed skate bowl that has tested the times are still being constructed to this day.
We thought it was pretty funny that one of the ledges have typical steel grooves that you might find out the front of a building to deter skaters and alike from riding it. Granted, in this case, they are next to a disabled wheelchair access ramp. However, we would have presumed that common sense would have prevailed with or without the stoppers. Overall, Laverton Skatepark is a rad place for skateboarders, scooters, BMX’ers and skaters alike with features to appeal to all disciplines and styles. There are so many new rad skateparks in West Melbourne. Therefore Laverton is often overlooked, and you will often find the skatepark empty.
They have recently installed a public toilet near the skatepark so skaters can shred the park and a roll of toilet paper in the same session. The skater girls can also finally stop stinking out their handbags and can now leave their Wee-she behind.
