Dicky Beach Skatepark in Caloundra has officially leveled up. If you haven’t rolled through recently, forget what you remember—the recent overhaul and resurfacing have transformed this iconic coastal spot from a tired neighborhood park into a legitimate Sunshine Coast destination. It easily earns an extra star.
The headline addition is the brand-new, fully enclosed kidney bowl with pool coping and tiling. It offers smooth, predictable lines with decent depth, giving transition riders a dedicated space to properly throw down. The coping is set just right, and the shape allows for continuous flow once you get your lines mapped out.
Complementing the bowl is an expansive selection of updated street obstacles. The park now packs in fresh ledges, rails, and bank setups tailored for technical trick selection. There is also an open bowl section with smaller transitions.
The biggest game-changer, however, is the surface itself. The entire park has been resurfaced, replacing old, weathered concrete with a buttery-smooth coat that rolls fast and forgives small errors.
