Nelson Reserve Skatepark in Gympie QLD is also referred to as just Gympie Skatepark. The concrete park has been updated over the years. However, even the latest addition is starting to show its age. The original bowl is a bit of a waste of space but not too dissimilar to street banks found around town. The bowl is a big circle with mellow banks in the middle. Between the old and the new skateboard park is a basketball court and probably a better location to practice flat tricks. The newer section of the skatepark has several street features, banking snake run, mellow transitions, banks, ledges, rails, transitions and more. The skatepark is located in Nelson Reserve on the corner of Wickham St and Monkland St. The grass is green, there are public toilets within sight, a playground for the kids and plenty of shelters to provide cover from the sun and shade to the skaters.
